Correspondence Education InstituteCorrespondence education was organized from the very first days of the
University activity. Students from the Russian Far East, Sakhalin and Amur
Provinces, Kamchatka, Yakutia and Chukotka have been trained at this Institute.
At first it was a faculty. In 1998 the faculty was reorganized into the
Institute. More than 9000 students are being trained in 14 specialties here at
present. The Institute includes correspondence department, department of
accelerated training, distance training department, software laboratory. Short
accelerated coursers were introduced in 1993. Those courses are provided for
those who have higher or high vocational education. Managers, specialists of
different enterprises and institutions are trained at these courses.
Distance education technologies for training specialists have been used since
1999. The first graduation was in 2004.
Telecommunication technologies are successfully used in the training process
at the distance education department. There is a special electronic library of
training appliances. The students are provided with all necessary educational
and methodical materials for each academic module. There are all required
educational components for supplying the training process of distance education.
Software laboratory has been established to develop and introduce programs and
information technologies into educational and research processes at the
Correspondence Institute. It is also used for running the branches,
representative offices and other structural divisions of the Institute.
Interhigher education institution chair has been training students of
"State Municipal management" specialty since 1998. State and Municipal employees are retrained to improve
their skills here. International cooperation in the field of information
technologies afforded the opportunity of getting the USA government grant.
The Institute is developing dynamically. The educational base available at
the Institute allows the Institute to realize great projects and educational
programs successfully. |
