Taekwon-do (taekwondo) - the Korean national martial art, has a history in Korea of about two thousand years. The main principles of this martial art are: deference, composure, perseverance, self-control and indomitable spirit. Today, there are several Taekwon-do federations, whose rules differ, but whose foundation without exception to styles are the original techniques created by the legendary General Choi Hong Hi. There are several versions of Taekwon-Do - WTF, GTP, ITP but the most popular, is the World Federation of Taekwon-Do WTF. This single combat has become an Olympic sport.

Distinguished guests of the competition were:: Rector of PSUE V.G. Belkin; head of the International Department of PSUE and vice-president of the club "PSUE - Taekwon-Do" V.V. Grishchenko; sponsors of the competition: chairman of the committee staff and faculty PSUE A.S. The combined team, composes of faculty, staff, students, students of colleges and lyceums of PSUE, including foreign teachers and students. PSUE has long-term cooperation agreements with leading educational institutions of China, the Republic of Korea and the Federation of Taekwon-do, Jeju Island (South Korea), which, of course, helps the university to build more and more on this Olympic sport here in Primorye, attracting students and young people .

Vicotories by the athletes from PSUE are not accidential. After all, the team is coached by some of the strongest masters of the DPRK and the Academy of Taekwon-Do, Republic of Korea.
