From 20-24 June 2007 in Jeju (South Korea), the 8th International Open Championship of Jeju Island on Taekwon-Do was held. In these prestigious competitions, 21 teams from 18 countries participated (Russia, Spain, France, the United States, China, Taiwan, Japan, Mongolia, Kyrgystan, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, India, Nepal, South Korea, etc).

Russia was represented by the Sport Club “Taekwon-Do-PSUE” headed by the vice president of the club V.V. Grishchenko and head coach, WTF V.V. Savelyov.

Competitions took place based on the rules of the World Taekwon-Do Federation, 1st Day-Basic Techniques, 2nd Day-Fighting. The hard work of PSUE’s athletes brought home 3 gold medals, 4 silver medals and 5 bronze medals:
1st Day- Basic Techniques
- Karavai Irina 1st place;
- Karpov Konstantin- 2nd place;
- Barazdin Aleksander- 3rd place;
2nd Day-Fighting).

The President of the Sport Club “Taekwon-Do-PSUE”, Rector of PSUE, V.G. Belkin was given a letter of gratitude from the Governor of JeJu Island for the large investment in popularizing Taekwon-Do.

By the decision of the higher qualification committee of the ITF-Vienna, Austria, the 4th Dan (Qualification for International Trainer- instructor) was given to the club’s vice president and Head of the International Department, V.V. Grishchenko.

With our sincerest gratitude, we congratulate the Sport Club “Taekwon-Do-PSUE” for their outstanding performance.
